Our Automotive client based in East Anglia is looking to recruit a Metallics Materials Engineer.

Objective of Role

· To provide metallic materials feasibility and design support

· To be a source of knowledge of metallic materials and processes

· To manage the metallics section within M&P

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· To provide metallic materials technology support at all stages of vehicle development (inc. concept, design, engineering, and production). This will require an indepth knowledge of metallic grades, specifications, formability and general performance.

· To assess metallic material vehicle applications for production feasibility

· To support sourcing decisions for metallic material vehicle applications in terms of BOM, investment, weight, and environmental impact

· To be an internal expert on the implications of metallic vehicle applications (including coatings) of the ELV Directive

· To provide detail reports and/or presentations to project teams at the required milestones

· To support sales activities with expert knowledge and/or presentation content as required

· Engineering drawing sign off responsibility for metallic component feasibility and material selection.
