My client is a global space industry leader, and seeks a STRUCTURES DESIGN ENGINEER - PERM ROLE - PORTSMOUTH - SALARY UP TO 35K

To:
Ensure all structure specification and statement of work requirements are met for a complex spacecraft structure. Plan all design activities to ensure that schedule and cost are met and that long lead items are ordered as required. Have a working knowledge of all of the design methods and procedures required for a complete spacecraft design.

Supervise and provide on the job training to other Structures Engineers working on the same concurrent engineering team. Sign engineering drawings and change documentation ensuring that structure design requirements are met. Provide an engineering definition of spacecraft structure component design that is cost efficient and complies with all requirements. This definition will be given to Designers to produce engineering drawings. Write structures design documentation for customer reviews and provide all subsidiary information, which demonstrates, that all requirements are met. Present and justify the design and it’s development at customer reviews.

Designs will be taken from concept into production, therefore, design for manufacture, cost and minimum schedule are essential elements.

Must have a working knowledge of aerospace structures design techniques and methods and an understanding of the static and dynamic behaviour of structures, an appreciation of launch vehicles and the launch environment.

Essential Qualifications and/or Skills
Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience. Aerospace structural design process experience
