We are currently recruiting for a number of Lead Stress Engineers required for permanent opportunities in Bristol.

The successful applicant will be responsible for a team of engineers. Main responsibilities will be, directly or via team, carrying out static stress calculations to assess design solutions for varying tasks, for example concept design. You will also be involved in ensuring fatigue and damage tolerance requirements are met as well as liaising with other functions and projects to ensure stress requirements are fully integrated.

In addition to this you will provide technical leadership and when required undertake project management tasks.

Candidates are required to be degree qualified in an appropriate discipline, e.g. Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent as well as having substantial experience as a Stress Engineer working with hand calculations and computer methods. You also need the ability to rapidly and confidently assess structural problems under pressure and to provide the appropriate direction and guidance to team members. Knowledge of composites would be an advantage.
