Lead F&DT Engineer
The role:
The job involves the analysis of composite and metallic aircraft structure using the standard fatigue, crack growth and residual strength calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand and computer methods to develop design solutions within the project teams.
The engineer will be expected to liaise with the Methods and Data group in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments.
Team Leadership skills would be an advantage.
Experience:
Proven experience as a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance engineer, preferably in the aircraft industry, involved in fatigue analysis of metallic structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer
method is desired.
Some leadership experience would be an advantage.
Also an understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for fatigue and crack growth and an ability to develop these methods would be expected. Engineers would also be expected to have an ability to assess structural analysis problems.
Some knowledge of the application of FE analysis and an understanding of aircraft production methods and processes would be beneficial
Experience of PC and mainframe computer systems would be expected.
A team leader and player with a high regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle is expected.
