Experience required:
Knowledge and experience of EMC design techniques and practice to meet Military / Defence / Avionics specifications
Relevant Standards: Mil Std 461/462; Def Stan 59 41; RTCA-D0160.
Desirable:
Theoretical and practical design knowledge of passive intermodulation products and multipaction reduction and prevention techniques. Good practical experience about their test, measurement and elimination.
Tools/Equipment
PC literate, MS Office,
Familiarity with EMC Test equipment and hands on capability with an exposure to the test environment and how it works, use of spectrum analysers, receivers and field generation systems.
Qualifications:
HNC, HND, BSc or higher qualification in physics, electrical engineering or related subjects.
Job outline
An experienced EMC engineer is required to undertake EMC engineering tasks on RF communications payload projects, proposals and studies. Specific tasks will include:
- Requirements analysis
- Equipment specification development
- Advise on EMC control techniques and practices
- EMC design analysis
- Preparation of test specifications and procedures as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Involvement in testing of equipments, controlling of test programmes and assisting with test reports
- Liaison with customer representatives and participation in test reviews, design reviews project meetings
- Liaison with Suppliers to achieve compliant EMC designs
- Ensure compliant EMC System performance
- Assisting Test Personnel during EMC Testing
Some overseas travel will be essential
