Cryogenic Systems Engineer based Stevenage salary to 40k
We are looking for a Scientific Engineer to support the design of miniature cryogenic refrigeration systems within the Cryogenic Systems group for future space based instruments. Core products of the department include Stirling cycle and high frequency Pulse tube cryocoolers, as well as compressors for Joule-Thomson cooling systems.
Group expertise extends to working with academic institutions within the UK to develop Adiabatic Demagnetisation Refrigeration systems (down to 0.05K) as well Joule-Thomson coolers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Technical work will include support to new developments of single- and multi-stage cooling systems and evolution of existing cryocooler products.
You may be required to support Earth Observation and Science directorate for cryogenic systems studies and instrument development.
You will be responsible for producing documentation such as test plans/procedures/reports, performance analyses, and various technical notes such as design descriptions.
You will be required to liaise with customers and to make technical presentations to both customers and internal management.
There is also a possibility for you to provide technical support to the Mechanisms Research and Development group.
