Business Controller
Location: Derby
Length of contract: 6 months
Rate of pay: circa £25 Ltd
Due to the nature and location of this role candidates will either need to hold a transferable SC or be eligible to apply for one
The Business Controller plans and implements business processes and systems. They aid in the planning, control, WRB, financing and resourcing of the OBU supporting the Business Manager as required. Leads and supports the professional development of the assigned OBU staff
Key Accountabilities:
- Supports the Business Team to ensure OBU Business Plan is implemented across the organisation.
- Monitors Business objectives and financial results through agreed metrics and resolves business issues
- Plan, manage and control Business Administrators work load to achieve Business Objectives within specified timescales in accordance with policies and procedures
Monitors the deployment, where appropriate of common reporting standards and systems
- Works with team to plan load capacity requirements through liaison with managers and the team leaders in order to achieve a load capacity balance
- Plans, implements and controls OBU activity to achieve the Business Management objectives and targets within the agreed project timescales, cost and in accordance with prescribed polices, procedures, customer specification and resource budget
- Highlights and implements process improvements within the OBU
- Supports the Business Manager to facilitate and implement the financial control within the OBU
- Implements and controls the Work Review Board and Commit/Accept process for the OBU
- Assists in the preparation and implementation of Business Plan Deployment KPIs across the OBU
- Controls the generation of all reporting metrics in the OBU
- Controls the reporting of the OBU deliverables
Candidate will ideally have the following working knowledge/qualifications:-
- Undertaken a range of established professional tasks without regular supervision.
- Planned and executed professional activities to achieve prescribed Business Objectives.
- Professionally represented the function and or Company at meetings on specific tasks as defined in accountabilities.
- Planned, managed and controlled own work and that of any staff working on assigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Be IT literate
- Experienced in business/project or finance management is preferred.
- Intermediate level Excel user is desirable
- SAP experience is desirable
- Self starter able to assimilate data and act on it
- Good communicator with influencing skills
- Business acumen
- Customer focused, with a commitment to delivery coupled with excellent communication, used to dealing with ambiguity, approachable and have influencing skills.
