Our Client is a fast growing, award-winning UK based manufacturing business, based in Stevenage, focused on specialist niche products. In 7 years since formation, primarily through acquisition, the business has grown to over £28m in sales.

They have carried out acquisitions of specialist engineering businesses bringing strategy, operational management and capital to established companies in which we see exciting potential. They plan to acquire 2 to 3 businesses a year for the next 5 years

As Group Management Accountant you will be able to combine real-life experience of supporting manufacturing businesses with the intellectual challenge of working in a private equity-like environment.

This is an exciting role in a rapidly growing company which provides the individual plenty of opportunity to grow and develop as the business continues to expand. The individual recruited will work within the Group Finance team at the head office based in Stevenage and will report to the Group Finance Director but will also have day to day dealings with the Chairman, Acquisition Director, business unit heads and operational staff at the subsidiary level.

Preparing financial analysis to support the Board’s decision-making process.
Assisting the preparation of annual budgets and forecast, working closely with the Group FD and business unit heads
Ongoing development of reporting, systems and processes to aid commercial decision making.
Reviewing and monitoring of financial covenants
3 and 5 year business planning
Reforecasting
Variance analysis
Review of job costing, overhead usage
Review and report job and customer profitability
Gross margin variance analysis
Helping to develop the monthly and board reporting pack going forward
Working along side the Acquisitions Director on new deals. This will involve preparing forecasts, reviewing due diligence and IMs and working on valuations
Working on the integration of new acquisitions with the Group FD
Maintaining the Statutory books and annual returns

The ideal candidate will be qualified or finalist (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a large appetite for a highly commercial role in which they will be able to have a large impact on the business. You will have excellent systems and financial modelling skills as well as the ability to communicate well with senior management.
