Sales Director – e-learning / Training Solutions
Salary: 45-60k basic + Uncapped OTE + Car + Benefits

Our client designs and develops practical web based learning and diagnostic solutions that improve the performance of people at work. What makes us different is that we use our proven and robust methodologies to combine creativity, technology and learning design in order to create easy to use and engaging solutions that enhance productivity and benefit the bottom line.
The Company was formed in 1999 to provide e-learning solutions to public, private and not for profit organisations. The solutions we provide fall broadly into three categories:
•bespoke e-learning content creation services
•diagnostic assessment tools (e.g. training needs analysis, performance management)
•e-learning toolkit/skills transfer.
Current approach to sales and marketing
Sales activity is supported by a full-time marketing role and activities undertaken include:
•organising and running a series of road shows
•breakfast meetings
•newsletter
•PR
•arranging and attending exhibitions and conferences and carrying out follow-up activities
•networking (through BILD)
•cold calling.
By maintaining the existing sales and marketing approach, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and maintaining new client acquisition levels, they expect to continue to grow the business at a rate of between 15 and 25% year-on-year and maintain net profitability levels. In essence they have a strong and established business model and a highly regarded reputation within the e-learning marketplace.
Strategy for moving forward
The board would like to grow the business at a significantly higher rate within the short (next six months), medium (12 months) and long term (3 years+) and has identified the need for a high achieving hands-on sales director to join the business. To achieve the higher levels of growth the following strategy will be followed:
•increase new client acquisition specifically within the private sector
•increase the average contract size (short term)
•exploit untapped market areas particularly around the diagnostics solutions we offer which are unique in the marketplace (medium and long term)
•exploit opportunities with larger revenue potential , i.e. contract value of £150,000+ (medium and long term)
The Individual:
The individual will be an experienced sales executive currently operating in the bespoke e-learning marketplace with the skills and knowledge of designing learning and performance improvement interventions. (S)he will have at least 5+ years experience of working in the sector (at least 3 of these in a direct sales role), will have a proven track record and will currently be working in a senior hands-on sales role for one of our Client’s competitors. The individual will have:
•knowledge and experience of the bespoke e-learning industry
•knowledge and experience of designing learning and performance improvement interventions
•proven sales track record in ‘needs satisfaction’ sales
•skills to plan and implement sales campaigns
•the motivation and application necessary to work under own initiative to achieve ambitious yet achievable sales targets.
The opportunity/package
We are looking for a special person to become a partner within the business and the package available reflects the expectations of the high calibre person required to fulfil this role. The applicant can expect a competitive basic salary of around £60k plus car plus commission.
An opportunity to obtain an equity stake in the business through performance related share options exists within a two year period.
